The engagement

PRINT / INVENTORY & ORDERS

What we did

  • Workflow discovery
  • Systems design
  • Business application engineering
  • Client portals
  • Inventory and order workflows

For Edwards Printing, the customer order is part of a wider operation: client-specific print stock, inventory records and the administrative work behind fulfillment. Edwards Printing Order Management (EPOM) brings those activities into a connected application designed around the way the business serves its clients.

Designed and engineered by the team behind Superfactor for Edwards Printing.

01 / THE CHALLENGE

Modernize the system without losing the working context.

The project began with an existing Drupal-based inventory and ordering system. The business needed a modern foundation while keeping the experience recognizable. Client sales representatives needed to find and order printed materials; Edwards Printing’s team needed to manage the stock and orders behind those requests.

02 / THE DESIGN

Start with the people on both sides of the order.

The system design connected client portals with administrative workflows. Products, categories, available stock, order information and supporting documents formed the core structure. Different roles required different access and views of the same operation, making permissions part of the product design.

03 / THE ENGINEERING

Make the information travel with the work.

The application work brings browsing, ordering and administration together rather than treating them as isolated interfaces. The design covers order communication, data export and operational records alongside the customer-facing journey. Further enhancements are considered against that shared foundation.

The outcome

What changed

A foundation for a connected print operation.

EPOM brings client ordering and inventory administration into one system model. The work creates a basis for improving the movement of information from a client request into the business process, without discarding the context of the existing operation.

Client portals

An ordering experience organized around each client’s printed materials.

Operational visibility

Inventory and order records supporting administrative work.

A modern foundation

Systems design and application engineering around the existing business.

CLIENT PERSPECTIVE · DRAFT

“They connected client ordering with the operation behind it, making our printing workflow clearer and easier for the team to manage.”
