PEOPLE / AGENTS / TEAMS

What it brings together

  • Outcome-based briefs
  • Fractional specialist profiles
  • AI agent listings
  • Team discovery
  • Engagement expectations

Build the team around the work.

The Fraction Network brings a new kind of team into the same conversation: experienced people working fractionally, specialist AI agents and operators who coordinate both. The concept starts with what a business needs to accomplish, then helps it understand the capability, availability and responsibility each contributor brings. It is a network for shaping a working team, beyond simply collecting profiles.

WHY WE ARE BUILDING IT

A full-time role is not always the whole answer.

A business may need a senior specialist for a few days each month, an agent for a defined workflow and someone accountable for the result. Those needs do not fit neatly into a traditional job description. TFN is being planned around this changing brief, with room for different forms of contribution and a clearer explanation of how they work together.

The opportunity

FRACTIONAL TEAMS AND AGENTS

Make a different kind of team easier to assemble.

We are exploring the information a business needs before it can choose a fractional or agentic contributor.

Scope

The work to be done

Define an outcome, the context around it and the level of involvement required.

Capability

People and agents

Make specialist expertise and agent capabilities understandable within the same discovery experience.

Ownership

Responsibility for results

Clarify who directs the work, reviews it and remains accountable when a team combines people and software.

Why this approach

PRODUCT PRINCIPLES

Useful discovery needs more than a good profile.

Our thesis is that clearer fit and engagement expectations can make the network valuable to both sides.

01

Start with the brief.

Organize discovery around the business problem and contribution required, rather than a long undifferentiated list of skills.

02

Describe the operating model.

Show how a specialist or agent works, what it needs from the business and where human oversight belongs.

03

Respect the contributor.

Give providers a clear way to present expertise and scope, without turning every engagement into a contest on price.

WHAT WE NEED TO GET RIGHT

The network has to make a useful match.

Quality — Profiles and capability claims need a credible way to be evaluated.

Marketplace focus — The first audience must be narrow enough to build relevant supply and demand.

Accountability — Agent listings and mixed teams need explicit boundaries around access, supervision and ownership of work.

WHERE WE STAND / PLANNING

Planning the first useful network.

TFN is in planning. We are defining the initial audience, profile model and discovery experience, including how people and AI agents can be represented without blurring their responsibilities. The next step is to test a focused set of business briefs with prospective contributors and buyers before broadening the network.

Next:

• Choose the first specialist categories and buyers.

• Test the brief and profile model.

• Validate how a first engagement would work.
