Lead – Data Science

Lead data science across our products and client work. Establish trusted measurement, guide experimentation and shape useful data-driven product capabilities.

Remote within New Jersey. Applicants must live and work in New Jersey.

The role

We’re looking for a data science leader who can turn an uncertain business question into a sound analytical approach. You’ll own the discipline’s priorities, measurement standards and methods, helping teams decide what to build, test and improve.

This is a hands-on technical leadership role. You’ll work with product and engineering to establish reliable data foundations, lead analysis and develop analytical or predictive features where they are justified. Your recommendations should make both the opportunity and the limits of the evidence clear.

What you’ll own

  • Define the data science roadmap around product and business priorities.
  • Establish product metrics, instrumentation requirements and data quality standards.
  • Lead behavioral analysis, segmentation, forecasting and opportunity assessment.
  • Design experiments and distinguish useful evidence from noise or bias.
  • Prototype predictive features and validate them against practical baselines.
  • Set analytical standards and translate findings into clear product recommendations.

What we’re looking for

You’re an applied data scientist who can lead a discipline and still do the analysis. You understand how evidence changes a product decision and when the available data cannot support a conclusion.

Must-haves

  • Senior applied data science experience with clear ownership of product or business decisions.
  • Strong SQL and Python skills, including reproducible analysis and data preparation.
  • Sound statistical reasoning, experiment design and model validation.
  • Experience defining metrics and data requirements with product and engineering.
  • A record of leading analytical work, setting standards or mentoring others.
  • Clear communication of findings, uncertainty and practical recommendations.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience building data practices in an early-stage or multi-product business.
  • Experience with recommendation systems, forecasting or predictive product features.
  • Familiarity with cloud data platforms and analytics engineering.

Leadership here means setting direction and staying close to the work. We share ideas early, welcome different perspectives and give direct, constructive feedback. You’ll have room to influence how your discipline operates, with clear responsibility for its standards and delivery.

The pace is purposeful, with concurrent priorities and decisions that cannot always wait for a perfect brief. We make trade-offs openly, raise risks early and follow through on commitments.

We use AI and automation extensively to support research, production and execution. People provide the judgment, protect client trust and take responsibility for the finished work.
